On September 20, the ministry of science and technology officially announced the construction of a new generation of artificial intelligence open innovation platform in China based on shangtang technology. Shangtang became the fifth national artificial intelligence open innovation platform after aliyun, baidu, tencent and xunfei. At the same time, shangtang science and technology has also become a leading force to boost the guangdong-hong kong-macao greater bay area to create new heights of scientific and technological innovation and promote the layout of scientific and technological globalization.
Minister of science and technology wang zhigang awarded the title of "intelligent vision country new generation artificial intelligence open innovation platform" to shangtang science and technology, and will visit shangtang technology Hong Kong company on sept 21.
At present, the five national artificial intelligence open innovation platforms involve the application fields of AI, which are: relying on baidu company to build autonomous driving; relying on aliyun company to build urban brain; relying on tencent company to build medical image; relying on xunfei company to build intelligent voice; relying on shangtang company to build intelligent vision.
According to the public information, SenseTime is the world's leading artificial intelligence platform company and "the world's most valuable AI innovation enterprise". The company raised more than $1.6 billion and was valued at more than $4.5 billion.
At present, shangtang technology has established a world-class, independently developed deep learning hypercomputing center and a series of AI technologies, including face recognition, image recognition, text recognition, medical image recognition, video analysis, unmanned driving and remote sensing, becoming the largest AI algorithm provider in China. Its partners include: MIT, qualcomm, nvidia, Honda, alibaba, suning, China mobile, unionpay, wanda, huawei, xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, weibo, and xinfa. On September 10, 2018, shangtang technology received a us $1 billion investment from softbank China, valued at us $6 billion. Up to now, shangtang technology has obtained a total financing of over us $2 billion.
